Washington Marketing Group has been supporting direct marketing for nonprofit, political and issue-specific campaigns for almost 40 years. These campaigns have driven prospecting and development of multiple donor lists and a central database of 3.4 million conservative donors under management.
The firm was founded by William and the late Joanna Shaker in 1987, alongside their sister nonprofits including Heart to Heart Foundation, Children of Heroes Fund, Rule of Law Committee, and American Council for Health Care Reform.
In March 2026, William Shaker appointed long time managing associate Velma Anne Ruth as successor for the next generation of the company and sister charities.
